Houston Airbnb Turnover Cleaning Checklist
Checkout is 11. The next guest is at 3. Houston humidity has already done a number on the bathrooms, and there is a full trash bag by the door. The listing photos still show a house that looks like a hotel. That gap is the turnover.
Simpler Cleaning books STR turnovers by bedroom count — 1 bed $100, 3 bed from $165. This is the list we actually run, whether you do it yourself once or you hand us the keys.
Before anyone starts
- Keys or lockbox code that still works after checkout
- Next set of sheets and towels on site, or a note that we are remaking from the linen closet
- Restock list if you want supplies called out (toilet paper, pods, coffee)
- Gate or HOA code for Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek, and similar west-Houston communities — see west Houston service area
If the cleaner has to hunt for linens or a code, the 11-to-3 window is already gone. We wrote that up separately: what to have ready before the cleaner arrives.
Kitchen
- Dishes, sink, counters, stovetop, microwave interior
- Fridge wipe: spills and guest leftovers out, not a deep empty
- Trash and recycling out; new liner in
- Floor swept and mopped
Baths
- Toilet, shower, sink, mirror
- Fresh towels if you supply them
- Hair and humidity film — Houston bathrooms show this faster than most cities
Beds and living
- Strip beds; remake if the next set is there
- Floors vacuumed / mopped
- Surfaces wiped, remote and high-touch spots
- Obvious clutter reset so the listing photos still match
Outside the front door
Guests judge the first 20 feet. A stained driveway or algae on the north wall is a different job than a turnover. If the house also needs a wash, that is pressure / soft washing, not the indoor reset. Hosts in HOA neighborhoods (Katy especially) get letters about exteriors — why HOAs care about the wash.
Timing
A 1-bed is a different clock than a 3-bed. Same-day is doable when checkout and check-in are not stacked on top of each other without a key plan. Read same-day turnover when checkout is 11 and check-in is 3 and 1-bed vs 3-bed pricing.
Occupied homes that are not hosting can still use the same crew on a weekly plan via house cleaning.
